Welcome to the Utah State Treasurer's Office.

The State Treasurer is a constitutional officer and a statewide elected official. The Treasurer serves as the chief financial officer for the State and is responsible for the prudent financial management of billions of taxpayer dollars. The Treasurer serves a four-year term.

As the custodian of public moneys, he receives, receipts and safeguards all moneys of the State. Other functions of the State Treasurer include; disbursement of the public money under warrants drawn upon the Treasury by the Division of Finance; Establishes and operates investment programs, in accordance with the Utah Money Management Act, for all available state funds which include, but are not limited to, the General Fund, the Public Treasurer's Investment Fund, and Permanent School Fund; Issues all debt obligation authorized on behalf and in the name of the state, and serves as the primary representative of the state in matters related thereto.

The Treasurer serves as the central bank for state agencies, and serves as chairperson or a member of numerous State authorities, boards and commissions.

NEW OFFICE HOURS

Beginning August 4, 2008, the State Treasurer's office will be open from 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Monday through Thursday, and will be closed on Fridays. We will still process pool participant deposit and withdrawal requests by retrieving voice mail messages until noon on Friday and by processing any requests made via the internet.
